Course Details

Our event will run over 3 sessions - 1st, 4th and 8th June - giving a delay between each session allowing you time to gather thoughts and think about questions or concerns you might have.

Session 1 - Course Materials/Learning and Teaching/Prelim Papers/Final Examination

The focus will be on developing a scheme of work to ensure course coverage. Suggested learning and teaching approaches to ensure coverage of all topics in the Higher Economics course. Candidates will be provided with an electronic copy of a wide range of materials to support course delivery. Development of a prelim paper and marking scheme - again candidates will be provided with a prelim paper and marking scheme. There will also be a focus on how to prepare students for the external SQA examination.

Session 2 - Preparing candidates for the SQA Assignment

The focus will be on preparing candidates to undertake the SQA course assignment. Specimen assignments will be provided as well as a student guide to completing the assignment and suggest assignment topics. Advice will be given on how to manage the allocation of time and content to each section of the assignment. There will also be feedback on how the assignments are assessed by SQA.

Session 3 - Question and Answer Session

This will be a question and answer session for delegates to share concerns, ask questions or seek clarification on areas covered in Sessions 1 and 2.

The sessions will run as a virtual events. You will need access to a phone/tablet/pc with a speaker and internet access. All materials will be emailed over before the event.
